Young Emerging Professionals – YEP of Williamsburg
What are the benefits of membership in YEP?
1. Professional Networking
Membership Meetings
Monthly membership meetings provide opportunities to meet other young professionals in a variety of fields. A different speaker is selected each month to discuss issues related to professional development. Past speakers include Caren Schumaker of the Williamsburg Land conservancy and Nate Green of the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, and Ryan Yates of Riverside Health and Fitness. Membership meetings are usually held the third Thursday of the month at 6:00.
Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce
As an added benefit, all paid YEP members also enjoy a membership in the Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber hosts Business After Hours (BAH) each month to network with area professionals who may not attend YEP meetings.
2. Social Networking
Networking Lunches
Networking lunches are held the second Wednesday of each month. This is a great opportunity to get to know other members of the group, especially if you aren’t able to attend regular membership meetings.
Monthly socials
A social is scheduled after every monthly membership meeting at an area restaurant.
Other monthly socials are scheduled as a way to bring Yeppies together in a less formal atmosphere. Activities include group outings to Lake Matoaka summer concerts, bowling events or a happy hour one evening.
Community events
Throughout the year YEP members attend community events like William & Mary athletic events and the Strawberry Hills race.
3. Community Involvement
YEP provides various volunteer opportunities with its community partners like Bright Beginnings and Head Start.
