York-Poquoson 4-H – camps, leadership programs, horse club and more!

Register for 4-H Junior Summer Camp 2015

4-H Junior Camp for York County and the City of Poquoson is scheduled for August 3-7, 2015 at the Jamestown 4-H Center in Williamsburg. Registration for the camp and Counselor-in-Training positions will open on February 23, 2015. Only mailed-in registration forms will be accepted. Your registration envelope must be post-marked on February 23rd or later in order to be considered for a camp spot. The cost of camp is $250 per camper (with a $50 deposit due at the time of registration). Scholarships are available for youth with financial need. Join the 4-H Horse Club in York County/ Poquoson

State-Wide Teen Weekend at the Southwest 4-H Educational Center

Teens (must turn 14 before September 30, 2015) from throughout the state will gather at the Southwest 4-H Educational Center in Abingdon, VA on February 27 – March 1. The cost for the weekend is $105. Registration for the program is due to our office by February 11th. Citizenship Program in Washington DC for Teens Entering 9th-12th Grade

Citizenship Washington Focus is a week-long 4-H citizenship program for youth entering grades 9-12 that takes place at the National 4-H Youth Conference Center (http://www.4hcenter.org/), just 1 mile from the Washington, DC border. The program will be held July 5-11, 2015. Applications to attend are due to our office on February 15th. Only current 4-H members can apply. The total cost of the program is $940. Scholarships may be available and help with fundraising is also available. Show Off Your Skills & Talents at the 4-H District Contests, March 21, 9:30a-12p

The Southeast VA 4-H District Contests allow youth ages 9-18 to demonstrate and practice their skills and talents. Contests are available in the areas of presentation, public speaking, talent, fashion (constructed or purchased outfits), and art. Any youth can enter the contests. Youth that participate will be judged and receive award ribbons. Registration is due on March 14th and it costs $5.00 to register.
