WJCC Middle & High Schools Move to Phase 3

Details on Phase 3 Transition for Middle & High Schools

Williamsburg James City County Middle and High School Families will move on to Phase 3 of Return to Learn. Middle and high school students will return to school buildings beginning November 30.

Transition Dates:

Students return based on the first letter of their LAST name. On November 30th grades 6 & 12 will return. December 7th grade 7 will return. December 14th grades 8 & 9 will return. And on January 4th grades 10 & 11 will return.

Schedule:

As part of the transition to Path 3, the school day for middle and high school students will be split between live instruction (7:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.) and independent work (1:30 -2:30 p.m.) Monday-Thursday. Students will attend school in-person two days a week and participate in live classes via Zoom the other two days. Fridays will continue to be a remote learning day for class meetings, online activities, and completion of assignments. The WJCC Schools Virtual Academy will follow the same schedule as middle and high schools.

As WJCC Schools prepares to welcome middle and high school students back to school buildings, bus routes are being reviewed for efficiency. To assist with this process, families of middle and high school students are asked to complete a brief transportation needs assessment. Please submit information separately for each middle and high school student in your home by Friday, November 20. Bus stop information

Virtual Academy students who are struggling academically or who are experiencing social-emotional issues may transition out of the year-long program for the second semester. Parent/guardians are required to submit an enrollment change acknowledgement. Find out how here
