Williamsburg Trolley Route starts June 17, 2013

WILLIAMSBURG TROLLEY SERVICE ENHANCEMENT
CONNECTING PEOPLE TO THE REGION…
Responding to our customers, WATA has redesigned the Trolley route to become more efficient, effective and accessible for the greater Williamsburg area. The Williamsburg Trolley route and frequency changes will begin on Monday, June 17, 2013. The Williamsburg Trolley will now provide our customers with an enhanced route that will facilitate a unique travel experience connecting local citizens and visitors to 15 key service points in the Williamsburg – James City County region; including, New Town, High Street, Williamsburg Shopping Center, Merchants Square, and the College of William and Mary. The Trolley will now operate on 30 minutes service loops in order to provide our customers with quick and convenient service to key destinations in our region. Citizens and visitors can ride the Trolley all day for just $2. The Williamsburg Area Transit Authority (WATA) will continue to work to ensure the trolley service meets the greatest needs of our community.
Kevan Danker, WATA’s Executive Director stated “We’re excited about enhancing the area’s Trolley service by reducing the wait time from 40 minutes to 30 minutes and restructuring the route to encompass as many people as possible. I can’t wait to get feedback as we fully market this valuable resource to our region so that the great people of this area are provided a great service. Be looking for additional Trolley’s during local events and future WATA transit system enhancements as we strive to be the transportation option of choice.”
