Spring Brings New Art Sale to Bruton Parish House
The Williamsburg Artists Group will return to Bruton Parish House in April for its popular spring show. About 20 artists expect to participate with their latest creations of fine art.
The event will be held on Friday, April 11, 4-8 p.m., with refreshments; and Saturday, April 12, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
“Our Bruton Parish art sales have become a highly anticipated event among art lovers in the Williamsburg community,” said Marc Chabrier, a long-time member of the group. “It’s great for the artists, who enjoy talking to visitors who are interested in their art, and a great way for visitors to add original, affordable art to their homes and offices. There’s great diversity of art and price points in these shows – something for everyone.”
WAG has expanded its outreach in the community through exhibiting at the Stryker Center as well as at Busch Gardens’ Summer of Wonder last year and again this spring for St. Patrick’s Day. The group also participated in the Williamsburg Christmas parade last December and won second prize for the creativity of its float.
“Busch Gardens has become an exciting new venue for WAG,” Chabrier said. “We are currently exploring options for additional exhibits at the park this year. It’s an indication that word of the quality of our artwork is reaching local organizations as well as the general public.”
WAG was established in 2018 as a way for local artists to show their work outside a traditional gallery. Sales are usually held at least twice a year and the venues may change.
This year, WAG will donate 10% of its total sales to the Williamsburg Youth Orchestra.
