We are entering Phase One! Here is the breakdown on what it means
We are moving forward with Phase One! Governor Ralph Northam announced the first phase of the “Forward Virginia” plan will begin on Friday, May 15th. So what does this move look like and how will it affect you and your family? We have outlined the changes being made and what remains in place to continue to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Changes:
- Retail stores may now operate at 50% occupancy
- Restaurant & beverage establishments may offer outdoor dining at 50% occupancy (see below or go here for our Restaurant Guide)
- Hair salon & Barbershops may operate with one patron per provider by appointment
- Fitness centers may offer outdoor exercise services
- Church services may be held inside at 50 percent capacity
- Private campgrounds can open
- State parks open in the day only (go here for specific state park info)
Remains in place:
- Ban on social gatherings of more than 10 people
- Social distancing
- Teleworking
- Wearing face coverings
- Entertainment and public amusement venues remain closed
- Beaches continue to be open for exercise and fishing only
- Childcare centers remain open for children of working families
- Overnight summer camps remain closed
