This Saturday Oct. 17th Historic Jamestowne Celebrates Virginia Archaeology Month. Witness the moment of discovery, tour the site with an archaeologist, and visit the Archaearium.

All programs are included with admission to Historic Jamestowne. Admission tickets valid the day of this event can be purchased here.

Archaeology Day Schedule:

9:00am–12:00pm: Archaeology in Action
Our archaeology team is hard at work uncovering new information about early Jamestown. Check out excavations in progress outside the fort between the Memorial Church and the East Bulwark. Visitors are welcome to observe and to ask questions of the field crew, but we ask that you please respect the safety ropes.

11:00am-12:00pm: Archaeology of James Fort Tour
Join a Jamestown Rediscovery archaeologist to hear about the ongoing excavations and some of the most significant findings. Program begins at the Tercentennial Monument.

1:00pm–4:00pm: Archaeology in Action
Archaeology continues outside the fort between the Memorial Church and the East Bulwark.

2:00pm-3:00pm: Archaeology of James Fort Tour
