James City County Police to Host “Halloween with Heroes” – FREE for Families

New this year: Sensory-Friendly Hour from 5-6 p.m
The James City County Police Department, is inviting all children and families in the county to participate in their fourth year of Halloween with Heroes. This community favorite is open to children of all ages and offers a safe and fun environment for trick-or-treating alongside local public safety heroes.
Costumes are strongly encouraged, and various departmental units and equipment will be displayed, with anticipated participation from partner agencies.
New this year: The department will host a Sensory-Friendly Hour from 5-6 p.m. on the same day. This quieter, lower-stimulation environment is designed for families with children who have sensory sensitivities. This is intended to provide a more comfortable and accessible opportunity for children with unique needs and preferences to enjoy Halloween festivities before the main event begins.

Jamestown Settlement
Trick-or-treating, creepy crafts and games, festive music, face painting, decorated houses and ships will be among the festivities. This has become an annual “must do” event in Williamsburg – it does sell out, so get your family tickets today online only. Tickets are not available on site or at the door. More info
Night of the Living Museum
October 25 & 26, 2024 from 5:30 – 8:30 pm
Come dressed as your favorite character or wild animal. Trick-or-treat throughout the museum as you walk through themed galleries filled with characters and themed decorations! Make creepy crafts and play Halloween games. This is a non-scary Halloween event for families with kids ages 12 and under. Purchase tickets online. More information here.
