TOPSoccer began Sep. 19 – for young athletes with disabilities
TOPSoccer Comes to Williamsburg
Virginia Legacy & The Arc of Greater Williamsburg Team Up to bring soccer to kids with disabilities in Williamsburg.
The Outreach Program for Soccer (TOPSoccer) is a community-based training and team placement program and is designed to bring the enjoyment of learning and playing soccer to young athletes with disabilities. Boys and girls age four and older will now have the opportunity to learn and play soccer at their own level. Players will be grouped based on size, age, and ability level, and includes those with wheelchairs, walkers, and other assistive devices.
The program combines the mission of Virginia Legacy (To provide fun, dynamic, and inspiring soccer experiences for youth players of all ages and ability levels) and The Arc of Greater Williamsburg (To improve the quality of life for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through community activities and advocacy) so that every child gets the opportunity to experience the joy of playing soccer.
