Shades of Summer: Natural Dying and Embroidery
We’ll spend a week gathering natural dying materials which we’ll use to dye fabric and thread. We’ll use these materials to sew and embroider a small animal pillow. I’ll teach three basic embroidery stitches: whipstitch, straight stitch, and a filling stitch. All materials are provided.
Session One July 1-5 10 AM to noon
Session Two July 8-12 1 PM to 3 PM
$50 per session per person, Limit 7 people per session
The Museum of YOU: Exploration and Collage
We’ll spend a week teasing out the art museum that lives in all of us. We’ll do a lot of outdoor exploring and begin to notice what we’re noticing—we’ll record our findings through words, colors, drawings, objects and shapes. At the end of the week we’ll have made a small museum on an 8 x 10 canvas. We’ll also have learned creative exercises to use whenever we want to explore more. All materials are provided.
Session One July 8-12 10 AM to noon
Session Two August 5-9 10 AM to noon
