Teen Volunteer Opportunities for the Library
Be a Summer Reading Volunteer or Summer Teen Puppeteer Volunteer
Summer Reading volunteers assist with a variety of tasks relating to the operation of the Summer Reading Room and Summer Reading Program activities. Volunteers must have completed the seventh grade. Volunteer applications are due no later than June 8, 2024. Learn more
Summer Youth Services Teen Puppeteer Volunteer
Volunteers perform with puppets behind a puppet theater, lip-syncing to music with Muppet-style puppets. Performances typically include puppets “singing” three to five songs per storytime. Puppeteers operate the puppets from behind the stage. They do not need to sing themselves. Volunteers must have completed the seventh grade. Applications are due no later than June 8, 2024. Teen Advisory Group (TAG)
Williamsburg Regional Library’s Teen Advisory Group (TAG), for ages 13 to 18, meet regularly to share ideas for teen materials and services and to assist with a variety of tasks and special events. Teen Makerspace Volunteer
Teen volunteers, ages 13 and 18 years old, will introduce the Makerspace to walk-ins, explain the orientation and training process, assist users with the equipment or maker programs, report equipment issues to the library staff, and suggest changes and additions to the Makerspace.
