Santa Calling Needs Volunteers!

Due to overwhelming participation this year more Santas, Elves and Mrs. Clauses will be needed! Santa Calling program will be calling children on Tues. Dec. 5 between 5:45-8 p.m

James City County Parks & Recreation is offering families a fun and free night of Santa Calling on Tuesday, Dec. 5. They need your help – as Santa’s, Ms. Claus’s and elves to help place the calls to children in our community. Volunteers are needed from 5:30-8 p.m. on Dec. 5 at the Recreation Services Office, 5340 Palmer Lane. Training is provided! Snacks provided. To volunteer, please email or call Angie Sims by Dec. 1 at angie.sims@jamescitycountyva.gov or 757-259-5403. Bring your Christmas spirit and help make this occasion an amazing evening for our children!

More about Santa Calling! This is one of our favorite programs JCC Parks & Recreation does for local kids. If you have ever signed your child up and received a call from Santa, then you know what we are talking about. For the first few years that we did it in our house, the kids were so little, and so excited, they couldn’t talk, they just listened with a huge smile. Then as they got a little older, they would ask if, and when Santa would call. And they would talk to him. It is just the sweetest program. If you want a little extra Christmas spirit in the house this December – we cannot recommend this program more. And it is free! Here is how it works…

James City County Parks & Recreation offers “phone calls from Santa” on Tuesday, Dec. 5, for children ages 9 and younger and for those of all ages with disabilities living in James City County and Williamsburg. Arrangements have been made with the North Pole for Santa and/or Mrs. Claus to personally call each child who completed a registration. Santa will attempt to call children between 5:45-8 p.m.; however, specific call times cannot be guaranteed due to Santa’s holiday schedule. Please be available and keep phone lines open during this time.

Again if you want to volunteer, please email or call Angie Sims by Dec. 1 at angie.sims@jamescitycountyva.gov or 757-259-5403. Bring your Christmas spirit and help make this occasion an amazing evening for our children!
