Sanctuary Music Concerts at Historic Jamestowne

Enjoy three performances by Sanctuary, a 14- member choir, at Historic Jamestowne’s Memorial Church. The choir, based at St. Stephen’s Church in Richmond (VA), will present a repertoire of song commonly heard in cathedrals and manor churches of 16th and 17th century England from composers William Byrd, Christopher Tye, Thomas Tallis, and John Taverner. The 25-minute performances will be held at 10:30 am, 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm. In celebration of Williamsburg Arts Month, arrangements created with flowers and plants indigenous to Jamestown Island will be on display in the Memorial Church. Visitors are also invited to take a self-guided tour of the island’s many statues and monuments.
