Our January meeting will be held on Thursday, January 28th, 6:30 – 8:30pm at the Peninsula School for Autism (PLEASE NOTE: We are now meeting in the old location on Nettles Drive). We are pleased to announce our presentation for the evening will be: “Discipline and Special Education” by Valerie Slater.
Valerie Slater is a disability rights advocate at the disAbility Law Center of Virginia where she provides assistance primarily in the areas of special education, transition services and issues facing children with disabilities in the juvenile justice system. Valerie is a graduate of the University of Richmond School of Law and a practicing attorney admitted to the Virginia State Bar. She is invested in advocating for the rights of individuals with disabilities with a special passion for the rights of children.
