Distinction magazine and York County invite the public to sip and sample at the Williamsburg Harvest Celebration Oyster Roast on Sunday, November 15, from 1 to 4 p.m. The event will take place in the Freight Shed overlooking the York River at Riverwalk Landing in historic Yorktown.

The afternoon will feature oysters from several regions in Virginia, with the oyster growers present and manning stations.  Visitors can expect fried, roasted and fresh shucked oysters as well as craft beer, wine, and cider, all from Virginia.  Meet and chat with Tom Gallivan from Shooting Point Oysters or Chris Ludford from Pleasure House Oysters plus York River Oyster Company.  Riverwalk Restaurant also will be participating and there will be scrumptious desserts from Carrot Tree. Wine stations will be manned by the Colonial Wine Trail wineries so you can learn more about the wine from our own backyard.  Beer will be provided by Old Bust Head Brewery.  Plus, enjoy bluegrass music by More Perfect Jones.

Sponsored by Distinction magazine, the event is a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon.  Tickets are $50 and available for purchase at www.williamsburgharvestcelebration.com or by calling 800-368-6511. Free parking is available at the Riverwalk Landing parking terrace, York Hall, York-Poquoson Courthouse, County Administration Building, and other designated public parking lots throughout Yorktown.  The free trolley will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. throughout historic Yorktown and Riverwalk Landing.  This event will be held rain or shine.
