Oyster Aquaculture

The practice of raising caged oysters–whether for profit, recreation or restoration–is growing by leaps and bounds in Virginia’s portion of Chesapeake Bay. Join VIMS shellfish aquaculture agent Karen Hudson as she describes oyster growing from hatchery to market and discusses some of the issues surrounding the practice.

Hudson’s presentation is the July installment of the 2013 After Hours Lecture Series at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science.
