Rigoletto by Giuseppe Verdi
October 21, 2016 @ 8pm
October 23, 2016 @ 2pm

Live fully-staged opera with world-class singers, performed in Italian with English supertitles. Verdi’s Rigoletto is one of the most popular works of world opera repertoire. Rigoletto is the bitter-tongued jester of the womanizing Duke of Mantua. Rigoletto tries desperately to protect his daughter Gilda from the evils of the court, but in vain: the Duke seduces and then abandons her. Rigoletto’s obsession with revenge goes horribly wrong. Led by conductor Jorge Parodi and stage director Isabel Milenski, with chamber accompaniment. For more information, visit www.operainwilliamsburg.org.
