New MOPS group starts this Sept at Williamsburg Presbyterian Church – All Welcome!

MOPS-FALL-2015

The WPC Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) groups will meet once a month.

The evening group will meet on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, from 5:30 to 7:30pm (beginning on September 16).

The morning group will meet the Thursday morning following the Wednesday night meeting (sometimes the 3rd Wednesday, sometimes the 4th, depending on the calendar), from 9:30 to 11:30am (beginning on September 17).

MOPS moms will register for either the evening or the morning group.

MOPS programs also include a MOPPETS program, in which the children of the MOPS moms are cared for in a warm, safe, fun-filled environment.  They’ll also be engaged in an age-appropriate curriculum in which they’ll discover how much God loves them.

We are also looking for MOPS Mentors!  A MOPS Mentor is a “seasoned” mom, with older children (and possibly grandchildren!) who would be willing to join either our morning or evening group.  You are there to provide support, connect with our MOPS moms, represent WPC, and possibly to lead a devotion or two.  MOPS International provides many resources to help you on your journey as a MOPS Mentor.

If you are interested in participating in our MOPS program, either as a leader, or as a group member, we’d love to have you!  Contact Jodie Davis, Director of Childcare, and WPC MOPS Coordinator (229-4235), to help us get started! Look for the MOPS brochures in the Welcome Center.

Theme this year is Fierce Flourishing!

What is a Fierce Flourishing, you ask?  This is the 2015-2016 MOPS theme, and we get to experience it, right here at WPC!  As we read in Isaiah 55:12:  For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.  This is what we hope all of our MOPS moms will experience this year!  Throughout the year, activities and speakers will be planned that will assist moms, so that in their lives, they will Celebrate Lavishly, Embrace Rest, and Notice Goodness.
