MUSICAL COMEDY, “SCREAM QUEENS” July 5-7
MUSICAL COMEDY, “SCREAM QUEENS,” IN PERFORMANCE AT WILLIAMSBURG LIBRARY THEATRE
Scream Queens, an outrageously campy musical comedy about former B-movie horror actresses who reunite for a Sci-Fi convention, will be performed Friday, July 5 and Saturday, July 6 at 7:30 p.m. and in a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, July 7 in the Williamsburg Library Theatre, 515 Scotland St. Presented by Panglossian Productions and Williamsburg Regional Library, tickets for the play are $16 for adults; $14 for Friends of WRL, seniors and students; $9 for those under 17. They can be reserved by calling the library at (757) 259-4070 or online at panglossian.org.
“Scream Queens” is set in a Cleveland hotel ballroom during the International GlamaGore ScreamiCon, an annual convention for fans, collectors and celebrities of the direct-to-video B-movie horror film genre. The special guests this year are six of the “sexiest” and “most popular” actresses in the business, collectively known as the SCREAM QUEENS. During a 90-minute interactive musical revue they sing, dance, clown and tease, taking the audience on a hilarious journey through their lives and careers as celebrity hopefuls and cult sex symbols.
“Scream Queens” stars local actresses Emily Brady, Caitlin Burke, Lauren Burwell, Imari Caldwell, Sharon Hollands and Amy Lyles. Christina Westenberger directs.
