MLK Hike thru History
Monday, January 20th 2014
10:00 am to Noon
York River State Park
Meet at the Amphitheater at 10:00 am

Africans, Europeans, and Native Americans have a history on the York River. On this guided hike on the Mattaponi and Woodstock Pond Trails, I will share some of the highlights from our past and a hope for a better future together. The hike is approx 2 miles with relatively minor elevation changes. We’ll even do a stop at Fossil beach. The trail narrows at one section, but is mostly an old logging road. I have known someone to take a child in a stroller down to Fossil beach. So, this will be a good hike for kids and novices. Bring water and snacks. Pets are welcome on a leash. Weather is not going to be a problem. But, good boots are always suggested. Meet at the Amphitheater at 10:00 am. We should be done by noon.
