Memorial Day Weekend 2016 – Things to Do in Williamsburg, VA

- Remembering Those Who Served — There are several local commemoration ceremonies on Monday
- Colonial Williamsburg at 10am on the Palace Green, includes a fife and drum procession
- Yorktown – Grace Church Memorial Day Ceremony, 10 am. Ceremony followed by the playing of “Taps” and replacement of flags “with Honors” of the 83 known veterans.
- Williamsburg Memorial Park – this is the 11th year of this special event; located just off Olde Towne Rd. Rain or shine.
- CANCELLED—Memorial Day with Memorial Day with the U.S. Air Force Heritage of America Band — Free concert at City Center at Oyster Point in Newport News
- Busch Gardens Food and Wine Festival – open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from May 27 – June 26, plus Monday, May 30 (Memorial Day) – get a cashless wristband to make it easier! Yum….
- Beat the Heat
- Water Country USA – open Memorial Day until 7pm
- Visit a local pool – many open this weekend and have FREE entrance so folks can check out pools before they join, plus James City County pools will have door prizes on opening day, Saturday, May 28
- Visit Jamestown Beach
- Family Fun
- Movies Under the Star – The Tale of Despereaux (G)- Saturday, May 28th
- Karaoke in the Park – Sing the night away while enjoying the park! All ages welcome. 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Saturday, May 28
- Strawberry Picking at College Run Farms
- Visit a Museum
- Visit the Virginia Living Museum “Dinosaur Discoveries”. In honor of its 50th anniversary the VLM is bringing back some of the most popular dinosaurs on exhibit, including T-rex and Triceratops, for a summer of roaring, life-like prehistoric creatures.
