JCC Clean County Commission hosts Litter & Recycling Expo
James City County’s Clean County Commission is hosting the 1st Annual Litter & Recycling Expo on Nov. 7 from noon-7 p.m. at Legacy Hall, 4301 New Town Ave. The Expo is free and open to public and attendees can come and go throughout the event.
The Expo will showcase the work that has been done for litter prevention and recycling by area businesses, community groups, government agencies and other organizations. There will be giveaways, games, activities, exhibits and a special visit by Smokey the Bear for his 75th birthday celebration. VPPSA will also be there to answer any questions attendees may have about the recently expanded residential recycling program.
The Clean County Commission organizes a number of programs throughout the year including the County-Wide Spring Cleanup, the Good Neighbor Environment Grant, the Quarterly Clean Business Forum, the Adopt-A-Spot program and a variety of environmental education and outreach initiatives.
