Lions are men and women who volunteer their time to humanitarian causes in their communities.  By conducting service projects and raising funds, Lions strive to help those in need wherever it exists. The Lions Motto is “We Serve.””

Under the leadership of Melvin Jones, a group of businessmen banded together in 1917 in Chicago to provide community service.  The name of one of those clubs was “Royal Order of Lions,” which gave our organization its name.  Lions clubs international is not the World’s largest service organization with more then 46,000 clubs and 1.36 million members in over 208 countries and geographic locations worldwide.
