League of Women Voters – Williamsburg Area Candidate Forums in Sep./Oct. 2015

 

CORRECTION to OCT. 15 EVENT BELOW– Republican Board of Supervisors candidates Mary Ann Jones, Heather Cordasco and Sue Sadler have agreed to participate at the 7 p.m. October 15 League of Women Voters of the Williamsburg Area meet and greet at the James City County Government Complex after a change in format from the traditional candidates forum to the meet and greet. Our website offered the rationale for the format change. The League was notified of the Republican nominees’ participation by JCCRC Chairman Amanda Johnston on September 16.

  • Note the change from the earlier posting! This event was initially planned as a forum for the candidates, all of whom were invited. However, none of the Republican candidates agreed to attend.
  • Since the league did not want to give the impression that it favored one candidate over another, the league changed the format of the event to a “meet and greet”. We hope all the candidates will accept this opportunity to talk with the voters of James City County.
  • Each candidate who attends will have five minutes to address the audience.
