Lafayette HS presents free play, The Diviners 2014

PLAY, The Diviners, PRESENTED FREE AT WILLIAMSBURG LIBRARY

Lafayette High School students will present the play, The Diviners, on Friday, February 14 at 7 p.m. in the Williamsburg Library Theatre, 515 Scotland St.  The performance is free of charge and tickets are not needed.  Call 259-4055 or visit wrl.org for more information.

This moving American drama explores the friendship between a mentally challenged young man and a disenchanted preacher.  Set in rural Zion, Indiana in the 1930’s, the play is a story of friendship, family, and community, told in a hauntingly poetic voice that speaks to speaks to the heart.  As playwright Jim Leonard Jr. puts it, “These are good and simple people, they have only the best intentions.” Don’t miss this beautiful play! Lafayette High School Theatre is proud to present ‘The Diviners’ by Jim Leonard Jr.  Lafayette was VHSL (Virginia High School League) One Act Regional Champions and State runner up this past December.
