JIMMY MASTERS QUARTET IN CONCERT AT WILLIAMSBURG LIBRARY THEATRE
The Jimmy Masters Quartet will perform an evening of jazz and other great music on Saturday, September 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the Williamsburg Library Theatre (515 Scotland Street). Tickets for the concert are $16 for adults, $14 for Friends of Williamsburg Regional Library and students and $10 for those under 17.

Jimmy Masters has been Hampton Roads first call jazz bassist for over 25 years , having performed with numerous jazz luminaries over that timeframe. His recent CD, When Trees Speak, which was released in 2013, has received critical acclaim from numerous well-documented jazz writers around the US and in Europe. For this special show he will be discussing and presenting the music of prominent jazz bassists such as Oscar Pettiford, Paul Chambers, Ron Carter, Dave Holland, the late Charlie Haden, and others. The band features saxophonist Greg Dudzienski, drummer DeVonne Harris and guitarist Alan Parker.
Jimmy Masters has played with numerous jazz luminaries over the years: saxophonists Steve Wilson, Rich Perry, Frank Morgan, Gary Thomas, and Ken Peplowski; pianists Fred Hersch, Kenny Drew Jr., Mulgrew Miller, Cyrus Chestnut and James Williams; vibraphonist Joe Locke; harmonica great Howard Levy; vocalists Kurt Elling, Jon Hendricks, Sheila Jordan and Chris Connor; and many others.
