James City County Outdoor Pools and Splash Pad


Last weekend to enjoy the outdoor pools! James City County has two outdoors pools – Upper County Park and Chickahominy Riverfront Park. Pool fees apply.

Chickahominy Riverfront Park features a large pool with slide. Located adjacent to the swimming pool is a splash pad featuring 10 spray elements including ground spray, rain tunnels, shower sprayers, and Bass fish sprayers. This water feature is perfect for all ages and especially non-swimmers! The park offers visitors separate restrooms, two shade structures, lounge chairs, a playground nearby (ages 2-12), and a snack bar stocked with ice cream, drinks and chips.

Upper County Park features a 25-meter pool with a slide. There are separate family changing rooms with showers, shade structures, lounge chairs and a playground nearby (ages 2-12), ADA accessible pool lift. The snack bar includes hot dogs, hamburgers, ice cream, chips and drinks.

James City County Recreation Center also has an indoor pool with open swim hours. Visit here for more on this pool. The indoor pool at the Rec Center remains open after Labor Day.
