After a little over a week of quarantine we are looking for new ideas and new online tools to help us get through another week. Here are a few FREE online resources. Hang in there, I think one day we will look back and miss all this family time!

  • Khan Academy offers daily schedule for students ages 2-18 to keep them learning!
  • Typing Club learn to type!
  • Scholastic Learn at Home offers day by day activities for students of all ages! They are also offering 20 days of free lessons for PreK-9+.
  • National Inventors Hall of Fam (NIHF ) – As leaders in STEM education, they understand the challenges of managing school closures like those occurring in response to COVID-19. With these challenges in mind, they are providing at-home learning resources to help turn these uncertain times into innovative learning opportunities.
  • Mystery Science has free science lessons during COVID19.
  • Wonderopolis was created by the National Center for Families Learning (NCFL) in 2010, and it has become one of the most popular education sites today.  Each day, they pose an intriguing question—the Wonder of the Day®—and explore it in a variety of ways.
  • The Facebook group Amazing Educational Resources gathered resources for reading, math, history, chinese, music, coding and more into a public spreadsheet. 
  • hand2mind is excited to introduce teach@home: Daily Lessons & Activities for K-5 students, a series of free daily lessons and activities created and delivered by teachers. Each week you will find an easy-to-follow schedule, by grade, for K-5 students and daily grade-specific video lessons for Math and Literacy. You will also find worksheets for the Math and Literacy lessons as well as a daily STEM activity.
  • PBS Kids get daily activities and tips to help kids play and learn.
  • Highlights Kids has fun games, recipes, crafts, kids telling JOKES (laughing is important especially right now) and more!
  • Kids National Geographic Find fun facts about animals, science, history and geography, along with fun competitions, games and more!
  • Science Kids is the online home of science & technology for children around the world. Learn with fun science experiments, cool facts, games, activities, videos, and photos.
  • CoolMath4Kids offers “math for ages 13-100” — explanations that are easy to grasp on topics like algebra, pre-calculus and more.  They also have games with challenges that will make you forget you’re getting a mental workout!
  • Nomster Chef – Nomster Chef wants to help your family cook and nom healthy food together during this crazy time.
  • The Science, Space and Technology Committee has put together this document that lists a wide variety of resources for teachers related to stem learning.
