Focus Field Hockey: Youth League – Begins March 22, 2014

The Spring Focus Youth Program begins on March 22! This program runs through late May and provides the athletes with 5-6 practices and 2 optional local tournaments. The curriculum will focus on ball handling, individual defense and positioning and will include a lot of small game play. The program is suitable for beginners as well as experienced players.
Practices will be 90 min to 2 hours and will be held on March 22, March 29, April 5, April 12 and May 3. Optional tournaments will be held on May 17 at CNU and on May 24 in Richmond. Tournament fees are extra and will run somewhere around $50 each.

At Focus, we have an outstanding year-round club that is ranked #6 in the US and #1 in Virginia by the US Field Hockey Association. By expanding our programming to include the U8, U10 and U12 age groups we are hoping to expose more athletes to the sport and to better prepare them for higher level play if they choose to pursue it. Focus coaches are highly qualified and passionate about teaching the sport. Bios for the Focus Coaches and Directors as well as more information about our year-round club can be found at club.focusfieldhockey.com.

You can email quan@focusfieldhockey.com if you have any questions about registration. More info about our Summer Season for U8, U10 and U12 will be available soon!

Thanks to a grant from US Field Hockey, sticks will be provided for those athletes that do not own one. Athletes will be required to have both mouthguards and shinguards in order to participate. For more info and to register, go to http://club.focusfieldhockey.com/club_youth.htm
