At Focus we have an outstanding year round club and by expanding our program to U8, U10 and U12 age groups, we are hoping to expose more athletes to the sport and to prepare them for higher level play. Focus coaches are highly qualified and passionate about teaching the sport. If you are interested in joining FFH Club, placements are being held weekly. Athletes may attend a club practice for their age group (starting at age 5 years old) and will be placed on the appropriate team from there. Initial placement depends on age, skill and experience. All club athletes are evaluated regularly and may be placed on a different team if it assists in their progress.
FFH does not turn athletes away. If you want to improve and compete, FFH has a spot for you.
Many Focus members continue to compete at the collegiate level. If this is your goal, it is very important that you be familiar with the recruiting process and timeline so that you can make the most of your time at Focus. The club puts a lot of effort into making sure each member has the necessary skills at the right time to achieve her goals. It takes a certain amount of time to develop skills that will make an athlete recruitable and it can be impossible for us to help athletes achieve their goals if they join club too late. Most Division 1 programs start looking at athletes closely during their sophomore year and tend to wrap up recruiting for each class by the end of the athlete’s junior year. If an athlete aims to pursue the sport at the D1 level, we encourage her to join no later than the start of her freshmen year. For a D2 or D3 level program, we encourage athletes to join no later than the start of their sophomore year.
