Looking for something Halloween-y, fun, funky, or unusual?  The annual Costume Sale is back in person this year at William & Mary’s Sadler Center upstairs in Tidewater A & B.  The Twilight Sale begins at 8 pm on Wednesday, October 23 followed by the full day event from 10 am – 5 pm on Thursday, October 24.

Reserved parking for non-campus shoppers will be available in the Old Dominion Lot (299 James Blair Dr) and Stadium Lot (180 Stadium Dr). Look for signage and balloons.

This event features costumes, formals, vintage, funky finds, holiday sweaters, and things that defy description! Shiny, stretchy, smooth, cozy, stylish, and more! Shoes, hats, accessories, jewelry, new and lightly used thrift items & decorations, plus a Christmas corner. There will also be a 50/50 cash lottery. Tickets are $1. (Winner receives half of the money collected. The remaining half goes to FISH). Every year is different. All proceeds from the sale benefit FISH, our local food and clothing closet. Come have fun for a good cause!

This event is sponsored by William & Mary’s Catholic Campus Ministry student group and brings together campus and community volunteers for the benefit of FISH, Williamsburg’s local food and clothing closet which assists community members who find themselves in need of more support www.fishwilliamsburg.org

The Costume Sale is somewhat of a misnomer.  Sure, there are costumes, but there’s so much more that defies description one phrase can’t quite sum it up!  Think of it as a pop-up thrift store of treasures – jewelry, adult costumes, kids costumes, vintage, formal wear (current), hats, GLOVES (galore), shoes, furs (both real and faux), dog costumes (really), accessories, AND SO MUCH MORE!  Bring your imagination and sense of fun.

All items are donations to FISH but fall into a category beyond necessity and daily use.  This event allows those donations to still benefit the organization in what has become one of the largest fundraisers for this local non-profit.  All of the proceeds from this annual event support FISH.  In past years, proceeds have helped pay the facility’s rent and also been used to purchase new items (like socks and underwear) or hard to find sizes of popular items (think pants -without knee tears – for boys between the ages of 6-10).

Find a treasure and support your community.  It’s a WIN-WIN for everyone!  If you’re interested in volunteering for the event, please contact Susan Zickel at zickel@cox.net.
