Field Herping Event with Virginia Living Museum Herpetologist – registration is open

Field Herping Event with VLM Herpetologist – April 30

What is “Herping”? This is the term we use to describe the activity of looking for wild reptiles and amphibians in the field… and now is your chance to GO!

Join Virginia Living Museum staff on a special guided tour of the museum grounds to search for wild reptiles and amphibians! Learn how to identify native wildlife, how to be safe and respectful of the animals and their habitats, and what animals you might be likely to see if your own backyard. Sign up in advance to join our first onsite herping tour. Staff will meet pre-registered participants at the VLM front entrance at 9am on the morning of Saturday, April 30, 2022.

Participants must be ages 12 or older. The cost is $20/participant. Program will take place from 9am-10am on museum grounds and is not handicapped accessible. This tour will take place outside. Please wear shoes/clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty, as well as weather appropriate attire. Register here.
