Yorktown Day Parade & Patriotic Exercises

October 19 @ 9:00 am 5:00 pm

Join in the festivities to commemorate the Siege of Yorktown in 1781 and the Revolutionary War victory that paved the way for America and her freedom.

Schedule:
8:25 am – Commemorative Ceremony at the French Cemetery, Yorktown Battlefield.

9:10 am – Commemorative Ceremony at the French Memorial, honoring the French and American Alliance

9:10 am – Wreath Laying Ceremony at the grave of Governor Thomas Nelson, Jr. at Grace Episcopal Church, Yorktown

10:30 am – Flyover down Historic Main Street by the French Air Force, Lafayette Squadron 

10:30 am – Yorktown Day Parade, Main Street

11:15 am – Patriotic Exercises and Memorial Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Victory Monument, Yorktown

1 – 4 pm – Historic Nelson House, Swan Tavern and Poor Potter sites open for visiting

1 pm – The United States Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps performance at The Victory Monument

3 pm – The Williamsburg Youth Orchestra, outdoor performance at 405 Main St, Yorktown

3:15 pm – Dr. Thomas  Chávez lecture about Francisco de Saavedra (1746-1819) at York Hall

The Yorktown Market Days will be having a special themed Yorktown Victory Market on the Riverwalk Landing from 9 am to 3 pm

Coloring station

8 Shires Coloniale Distillery will educate guests about colonial distillation.

– How to Play:

Stop by the Visit Yorktown booth to pick up a BINGO Card (or print your own).

Visit the businesses listed on the card to read Lafayette’s story.

Then, step inside each business to get a stamp on your card.

Fill on all stamps and return to the Visit Yorktown booth for a prize.
