York River Shoreline Spruce-up
June 7 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
York River Shoreline Spruce-up
Volunteers are invited to take part in the 36th annual Clean the Bay Day, where they’ll help collect debris along the York River shoreline and nearby trails. Registration opens in April on the Chesapeake Bay Foundation website. The park will provide all necessary supplies, including trash bags, gloves, and trash pickers. Participants are asked to wear closed-toed shoes for safety. For more information, see here.
Each June, Virginia State Parks participate in the Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s Clean the Bay Day: an annual event focused on protecting and preserving the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Park visitors are welcome to join in a community clean-up, helping to remove litter, debris, and pollution from rivers, streams, and shorelines that flow into the Bay. Every effort supports a healthier ecosystem, cleaner water, and safer habitats for local wildlife.
