Trekking Taskinas Creek
Set out on your own adventure with a self-guided hike along the Taskinas Creek Trail—one of eastern Virginia’s most scenic and challenging routes. Navigate rolling ravines, enjoy sweeping views of the marsh, and watch for eagles overhead or muskrats in the water. The trail begins at the split rail fence near the horse trailer parking area. This event is part of National Trails Day. For more information, see here.
On the first Saturday in June, Virginia State Parks celebrates National Trails Day—a yearly event that invites outdoor lovers of all ages and abilities to enjoy hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails. Across all 43 state parks, guests can take part in guided hikes, trail maintenance activities, and volunteer projects that promote trail care and the importance of protecting these paths for future generations.
