Following the Battle of Point Pleasant in 1774, four notable Shawnee leaders are sent to Williamsburg to stay with Lord Dunmore for several months. Their role as diplomatic hostages helps maintain peace negotiations between Indigenous and Virginian groups during the conflict known as the Shawnee-Dunmore War. Join us to witness the arrival of these Shawnee “Princes” in the city and experience the reactions that unfold when two cultures meet. Art Museum admission is required, no event ticket is needed.
