Shawnee Encampment

Cultural educators from the Shawnee and other federally recognized nations will be at The American Revolution Museum for interactive programs to commemorate the 250th anniversary of Lord Dunmore’s War, a 1774 conflict between Virginia and the Shawnee, Seneca-Cayuga and Delaware nations.

A Shawnee family living-history encampment will highlight seasonal cycles of living with demonstrations of finger-weaving, woodworking and traditional cooking. A Shawnee warrior’s encampment will illustrate battle tactics, prisoner taking, and captivity and adoption.
