Lauren Muney: Silhouettes By Hand
April 6 @ 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Lauren Muney “Silhouettes By Hand”
Lauren Muney of “Silhouettes By Hand” is one of only 20 artists in the world working in the traditional trade of cutting silhouette portraits with only scissors, without drawing in advance or tracing shadows. Learn the history of this cheaper form of portraiture used before photography, the itinerant artists who created it, and the reasons silhouettes remained popular from the 18th into the 21st centuries.
Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown are proud to host the Talking History Lecture Series, which offers free public lectures that link storylines found in the museums’ exhibition galleries and share how these vast moments in America’s past influenced its progression to the present.
Free, however advance online registration is recommended…more info
