Colonial Heritage Model Railroad Display & National Train Day Celebration
May 19 @ 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
National Train Day marks the anniversary of the establishment of the Golden Spike in Promontory, Utah, which symbolized the competition of the first transcontinental railroad in the United States. It also observes the first anniversary of the rail route system in the U.S.
Join The Colonial Heritage Model Railroad Club for a Train Day celebration with trains running on their 20 module HO display, the Yarmouth Creek and Western Railroad, created by members of the Club. Follow trains around the display, through mountains and towns. A challenge will be to locate 12 hidden objects placed somewhere on the display. For those who find at least 10 items, you’ll receive an Official Inspectors Card.
Plus visit the Norge Depot‘s Open House celebration. The Depot is filled with railroad artifacts and includes a model railroad. A Docent will be available to answer questions. More info
