The Celtic Film Series in the Williamsburg Library Theatre runs the 2nd Thursday of each month from September 2023 through May 2024 (except November).
February 8: Ordinary Love (2019) – An extraordinary look at the lives of a middle-aged couple in the midst of the wife’s breast cancer diagnosis. R, 1hr 32min
March 14: The Quiet Man (1952) – A retired American boxer returns to the village of his birth in 1920s Ireland, where he falls for a spirited redhead whose brother is contemptuous of their union. NR, 2hr 9min
April 11: Bloody Sunday (2002) – Portrays the Irish peaceful civil rights protest and resulting massacre by British troops in Derry, Northern Ireland on January 30, 1972. Written and directed by Paul Greengrass. R 1hr 51min
May 9: Philomena (2013) An elderly woman (Judi Dench) has been searching for her son for 50 years, who was taken away from her after she became pregnant and was forced to live in a convent. Based on a true story, BBC political journalist Martin Sixsmith (Steve Coogan) helps her in her search. PG-13 1hr 38min
