Naturally Speaking: Dr. Holly Gaff – The Challenging and Complex Ecology of Ticks

Virginia Living Museum 524 J. Clyde Morris Blvd, Newport News, Virginia, United States

Tick-borne diseases are on the rise globally, sparking interest in reducing their impact. However, the complexity of tick biology makes them difficult to study. Since 2009, the Old Dominion University Tick Research Team has been monitoring tick populations and pathogens through an ongoing surveillance project. This presentation will share the findings from this long-term study, exploring how the region’s ecology influences tick populations. This event is part of the Naturally Speaking VLM Series.
