Jan. 7: Maria by Callas (2018) PG – “There are two people in me. I would like to be Maria, but there is the Callas I have to live up to.” In this documentary, director Tom Volf assembles interviews, performances, and private letters and memoirs to portray the extraordinary operatic career of the Greek-American diva Maria Callas, a private woman in conflict with her own legend. 1hr 59min
Jan. 14: Learning to Drive (2014) R – In the midst of a painful divorce, a sheltered woman (Patricia Clarkson) begins taking driving lessons from a Sikh instructor (Ben Kingsley) with problems of his own. Isabel Coixet directed this heartwarming drama about learning to face your fears. 1hr 30min
Jan. 21: Taking Venice (2024) NR – In 1964, the Venice Biennale, an “Olympics of art,” becomes a front in the Cold War as the U.S., determined to fight Communism with culture, works behind the scenes to crown Texan artist Robert Rauschenberg winner of the grand prize. Feb. 4: Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story (2024) PG-13
Friends and family tell the story of Reeve’s career as the iconic Man of Steel, the near-fatal horseback accident that left him paralyzed from the neck down, and how he went on to advocate for spinal cord injury treatments and disability rights. This moving film won 2024 Critics Choice Documentary awards for best documentary feature, director, and score. 1hr 44min

In 1950s Texas, a group of Mexican-American golf caddies are not allowed to use the club’s facilities. Instead, they create their own golf course and begin challenging the wealthy, all-white teams. Based on a true story, this inspirational tale of overcoming the odds stars Dennis Quaid and Cheech Marin under the direction of Julio Quintana. 1hr 52min

Four young girls prepare for a special dance with their incarcerated fathers as part of a unique fatherhood program in a Washington, D.C., jail. This emotional documentary is a Sundance award winner and Oscar contender. 1hr 48min
