A Shock of Electricity: Special Event (FREE & Open to the public)
Join the people of Williamsburg in May 1774 as “a shock of electricity” strikes the city with news of Boston’s port closure reaching Virginia. The House of Burgesses, Virginia’s elected body, calls for a Day of Fasting, Humiliation, and Prayer, but Lord Dunmore, the royal governor, might have other plans. Step into a chaotic moment in Virginia’s past in this dramatization and hear the voices of a community struggling to find a way forward.
Weather permitting. More Info
