    Free admission for the first weekend of the month. View “Nature Revealed,” featuring vibrant landscapes of the Blue Ridge by Frederick Nichols and abstract landscape drawings by Jan Knipe.
  • Poetry Night
    January 9 • 6 to 7 p.m.
    Enjoy a free night of spoken word from area poets.
  • Art After 5: The Framers
    January 16 • 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
    A free night of live music from the Framers, a Hampton-based alt-country, indie rock trio. Food available for purchase from Stuft, plus cash bar provided by La Bodega Hampton. Free admission sponsored by the Noland Memorial Foundation.
  • Member Reception for “Masterworks of American Impressionism”
    January 24 • 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
    Members of the Peninsula Fine Arts Center are invited for a sneak peek of its new exhibit, “Masterworks of American Impressionism,” featuring works by Mary Cassatt, John Singer Sargent, Childe Hassam and other famous artists of the era. Curator Diana Blanchard Gross will give a guided tour. Free for members, $10 for the public. RSVP to jdobson@pfac-va.org or call (757) 596-8175 by Jan. 21.
  • “Masterworks of American Impressionism” Opens to the Public
    January 25 • 10 a.m.
    The public can view PFAC’s new exhibit, “Masterworks of American Impressionism,” featuring works by Mary Cassatt, John Singer Sargent, Childe Hassam and other famous artists of the era.The show is complemented by a local collection of works from the Boston School, an artists’ group working, showing and critiquing each other during the early 20th century.
