Curbside Recycling Schedule over the Christmas 2014 Holiday
Curbside Recycling Schedule over the Christmas Holiday
This is just a reminder about the schedule for Curbside Recycling over the Christmas holiday. Next week is a RED collection week for our program. If you recycle on RED Monday, RED Tuesday, or RED Wednesday – your schedule will NOT be affected by the holiday.
Curbside recycling collections will not take place on Christmas Day, Thursday (12/25/14).
Recycling collections for Thursday and Friday will be delayed by one day:
- Residents who are normally scheduled to receive recycling collections on
RED THURSDAYS should place their rolling recycling carts at the curb by 7AM on Friday, December 26.
- Residents who are normally scheduled to receive recycling collections on
RED FRIDAYS should place their rolling recycling carts at the curb by 7AM on Saturday, December 27.
For your information, we have compiled a holiday recycling checklist. We hope it is helpful in answering any questions that you may have about some of the materials that are common this time of year. The checklist is attached and also is available on our webpage: http://www.vppsa.org/images/Holiday%20Curbside%20Recycling%20Checklist.pdf
It is understood that many folks will generate more recyclable materials over the Christmas holiday. Residents may place extra materials in cardboard boxes or paper bags. It is preferred that the extra materials are placed on top of the recycling cart but they may be placed beside the cart if necessary. We also recommend that residents flatten cardboard boxes (if not used to hold overflow recyclables) before placing them in the recycling cart. The attached image file is a photo illustration of a cart with extra materials placed as described above. Please do not place anything in plastic bags!
The VPPSA Regional Curbside Recycling Program serves the residents of:
James City County
City of Poquoson
