Colossal Curl Water Slide at Water Country USA – Review

At 11:00 am on May 24, 2014 two WilliamsburgFamilies.com team members arrived at Water Country USA swimsuit clad and ready to experience the Colossal Curl; the new thrill seeker water slide that opened this Memorial Day Weekend.  It is a fast, fun ride with thrills and spills and definitely worth the all the stairs!  It is the first family thrill attraction at Water Country USA taking four guest at a time.  (Watch the video below of our ride)

So here is the run down:  you climb up to the top of a massive structure, in front of you is 552.5 feet of slide, and then someone says step on the scale?  Yes, your group is weighed.  But don’t worry, your foursome cannot be over 700 lbs and they don’t show your collective weight only a red or green light.  (FYI – the heavier your group of four people the faster you will go and the higher you will reach in the funnel!)

After you get the green light your foursome climbs in the water and onto a clover shaped raft with hand grips.  Then, off you go! There are parts that are fast, parts that are faster, water coming at you from all sides and a huge drop!  You laugh, you scream and then you ask your group, “wanna go again?”.  YES!!!
