Early Voting Open for Presidential Dual-Party Primary on Friday, Jan. 19 for City of Williamsburg Voters
In-person early voting for the Democratic and Republican presidential primary races begins on Friday, Jan. 19, 2024. City of Williamsburg voters can cast their ballots at the Voter Registrar’s Office, located in the Municipal Building at 401 Lafayette St., Mondays through Fridays 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through March 1. The office will also be open two Saturdays: Feb. 24 and March 2 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Polls will be open on Primary Election Day, Tuesday, March 5, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. To see a precinct map for polling locations on Election Day, visit williamsburgva.gov/vote.
See sample ballots for both primaries at williamsburgva.gov/vote. Registered voters are eligible to vote in either the Democratic or Republican primaries.
To request an absentee ballot or register to vote, contact Tina Reitzel at 757-220-6241 or treitzel@williamsburgva.gov. Virginia allows same-day registration, meaning eligible voters can register at any time, up to and including Election Day. The last day to request an absentee ballot is Friday, Feb. 23.
Absentee ballots, which will be mailed to those who have requested to vote by mail, can be returned to a dropbox outside the front doors of the Municipal Building or sent through the mail; postage is prepaid. Ballots sent through the mail must be postmarked by Election Day, March 5, and received no later than noon Friday, March 8.
