C.O.P.s (Community Outreach Program) Camp
Two Camps Offered: July 7 – 11, 2014 or Aug. 18-22, 2014
Are you looking for a rewarding and adventurous event for your child to participate in this summer? The James City County Police Department will be hosting two 5 day C.O.P.s (Community Outreach Program) Camps. This camp is available to individuals between the ages of 10 and 13. During this camp students will work in a team environment with a police officer as a group mentor. The students will learn about topics such as effective communication, peer pressure, and anger management. They will test their knowledge by competing in various physical and mental challenges as well as volunteering with local agencies. The students will take field trips and participate in activities such as zip lining at Go Ape, observing the therapeutic horse center at Dream Catchers, and kayaking at the Eco Discovery Park. Registration is currently open through James City County Parks and Recreation. You may register at “C.O.P.’s Camp.”
