Busch Gardens unveils the newest roller coaster Pantheon

Today Busch Gardens Williamsburg revealed plans for their newest roller coaster, Pantheon. The coaster will be the fastest multi-launch coaster in North America.

Larry Giles, Senior Director, Design & Engineering said “Pantheon is going to be non-stop action for riders.  We’ve designed it so that the experience is changing all the time and will keep riders wondering what’s next.”

Fun Facts:

  • Four launches
  • Top speed of 72.5 mph
  • The second launch goes up 62 mph then backward acceleration at 61 mph then forward again to 67 mph
  • 95-degree drop
  • 2 inversions (track turns riders upside-down) 
  • Largest drop is 180 ft.
  • The ride is about 156 seconds
  • 2 trains each holding 20 riders
  • Located in the Festa Italia village
The project started in May and is currently in the foundation stage with a projected opening of Spring 2020.
