Busch Gardens’ Newest Coaster, The Big Bad Wolf: The Wolf’s Revenge, Will Soon Be Unleashed

Today, I had the privilege of attending Busch Gardens Williamsburg’s Hard Hat Tour of the next roller coaster to make its debut, The Big Bad Wolf: The Wolf’s Revenge.

The striking bright red and black track is now complete, with only electrical work remaining. The project, which started in the summer of 2024, is just a few weeks away from the ride testing stage. An exact date has not been set, the coaster could debut as early as this spring.

The first lift takes riders over a building, through a gate, and drops them into an abandoned village. Suzy Cheely, vice president of design and engineering for Busch Gardens Williamsburg, shared her excitement about the village scene. She foresees park attendees riding the coaster multiple times and noticing something they missed in the village before.

The second lift takes you into another story telling scene. “This is the most immersive storytelling the park has seen in a roller coaster in quite a long time,” said park president Kevin Lembke.

Highlights:

  • First drop is 65 feet
  • Speeds up to 40 mph
  • Over 2,500 feet of track
  • Two trains with 20 people per train in 2 rows
  • Inverted fixed coaster
  • Kids 42″ can ride with an adult
  • Located in Octoberfest

This is an exciting year for Busch Gardens Williamsburg, in addition to opening this attraction they are also celebrating their 50th Anniversary!
